The CREMATORY hit factory opens its doors for the 17th time with its new studio album “Destination” and reaches a new, even higher level than before! It's an album that literally combines all the strengths and phases of the gothic metal pioneers, going back to their melodic death metal roots in places, then diving deep into the gothic realm again and surprising with some electro dancefloor bangers. “Destination” is like a musical best-of album, a return to the past combined with the strengths of the present. One thing is clear: CREMATORY are highly motivated, are upping the ante and definitely still have a lot to say even after 34 years of successful band history! This new power is partly due to the powerful guitar work of Rolf Munkes, who has been playing the strings for the band for ten years now and is also responsible for the recordings. “If the guitars are heavy and awesome, then they have to be mixed louder in the overall mix and the keyboards move a little into the background - or vice versa,” explains founding member and drum legend Markus Jüllich. “I think we've done an excellent job of balancing and capturing the mood between heaviness and melody. Rolf is a great guy, a great guitarist and a great producer!”.As on their previous album “Inglorious Darkness”, frontman Felix Stass takes on the sole vocal position and skillfully varies between growls and clear vocals. A challenge that the frontman once again masters brilliantly. “I'm thrilled because Felix has really delivered and so we won't need an additional clean singer in the future. Felix was and always has been the only true CREMATORY singer,” praises Markus Jüllich, who has been leading the band through highs and lows together with Felix Stass since 1991, always motivating and spurring him on to top performance. The dark yet majestic cover artwork by Noah Bouchard matches the basic mood of the album, which is of course pitch black. The title “Destination” indicates a clear direction. “For us, the album is a highlight of our career,” says the band's drummer and manager. “Our goals are high and it's been our destiny for 34 years to make great music with CREMATORY and set trendsetting standards for the scene. We never reinvent ourselves, but we continue to develop from record to record so that neither we nor our fans ever get bored. If it says CREMATORY on it, it's always CREMATORY inside!”In the more than three decades of their existence, CREMATORY have seen trends come and go, they polarize and don't let their opinions be banned. “We are very proud of what we have achieved with CREMATORY, something we could only have dreamed of at the beginning. We're still here, we've released a proud 17 albums in 34 years, 14 of which have entered the German charts, and most recently we even cracked the top 20. We and our fans can be damn proud of that. Believe in CREMATORY and especially in you” is the motto for everyone! There are plenty of highlights on “Destination”, including the electro anthem “Welt aus Glas”, the hit “The Future Is A Lonely Place”, the hard-hitting title track “Destination”, the doom roller “After Isolation” and the fantastic tribute to TYPE O NEGATIVE with the classic “My Girlfriend's Girlfriend”. “We were able to play a few festivals with TYPE O NEGATIVE in the 90s and get to know the guys. “My Girlfriend's Girlfriend” is made for CREMATORY and we wanted to express our respect. As a special treat, we added Michelle Darkness from END OF GREEN as a guest vocalist, who mirrors Pete Steele's vocal color perfectly and harmonizes sensationally with Felix,” says the scene veteran happily and, as in the past, shows a lucky hand with cover versions of SISTERS OF MERCY, DEPECHE MODE and METALLICA. CREMATORY have filled the bass position with Oliver Revilo. After four festival appearances together, the actual guitarist got the job. “The best bassists are actually guitarists,” states Jüllich and is looking forward to the future together. With “Destination” in the bag, anything is possible - the road to success points straight ahead.
